A Canadian market only special-edition Geo Metro. All info is from a Pontiac sales brochure.
1989 Pontiac Turbo Firefly Fashionable, fun and fast. The Turbo Firefly sets itself apart from its fellow Firefly models in a number of ways. Turbo Firefly boasts a turbocharged, intercooled, multi-port fuel-injected version of Firefly's 3-cylinder/5-speed manual powertrain and generates 45% more horsepower (70HP @ 5500 RPM) than the standard Firefly engine. Turbo Firefly has been clocked at 9.4 seconds, zero to sixty, on the GM test track with a professional driver at the wheel. Special Equipment The car rides on P165/70R-12 steel-belted all-season radials, tires that are wider than those on the regular Firefly. An upgraded suspension features front stabilizer bar and specific shock absorbers and spring rates. Aero ground-effects: front and rear air dams and rocker panel skirts. Dual tail pipes. The Turbo Firefly Exterior To begin with, you get your choice of bright red or aquablue with colour-matched wide body-side mouldings. Other distinctive Turbo exterior touches include: * White wheel covers. * Body-colour bumpers and rub strips. * Dual black sport mirrors. * Special "Turbo" and "Intercooler" graphics on the body-side. The Turbo Firefly Interior As the picture below indicates, Turbo Firefly is distinguished by specific interior trim in Charcoal and special steering wheel with "Turbo" graphic. Other interior features standard in Turbo Firefly include: * Custom Knit Cloth upholstery. * Split-folding rear seat-back. Source with Full Specs |

Do you know how awful these things are to drive? Do you know how depressing the interiors are? Has anyone ever driven, let alone, been in one? I have. I drove a stock one, it's still being sold in Pakistan as the Suzuki Cultus, and GOD it's awful. It's actually considered a decent car there...

If you don't understand now you never will. What the hell does that even mean? Honestly, I asked for a question of how this 3-cylinder econobox with 70hp (AFTER turbocharging) is even remotely cool besides trying to appeal to a younger market with a more sportier image of the Firefly economy car? |

When I read "1600 pound turbo hatch" I got all excited but then I read "70 HP 3-cylinder" and I was like "fucking lame".

Because it weighs 1600 lbs and has a turbo? If it had 100 extra ponies and at least 1 extra cylinder, then it WOULD be cool. duke's theory of how you rank things as being cool is so correct If forum thinks A = Suck and B = Cool then Dakian think B = Suck and A = Cool. QUOTE Turbo Firefly has been clocked at 9.4 seconds, zero to sixty, on the GM test track with a professional driver at the wheel. That just cracks me up every time. I bet the driver was laughing his ass off when he came to a stop |

Just because it has a turbo doesnt mean its cool. Look at old school computers with the turbo button, those are not cool! The mach 3 turbo = Not cool. Aol turbo platinum gold unobtanium = NOT COOL. Turbo from American Gladiators = NOT COOL!!!!! Turbo != Cool. |

Oh yeah, I just wanted to make sure we're on the same level here and that you do understand what the meaning of cool is.
http://www.webster.com/dictionary/cool This is what you mean, right? I figure maybe you're confused or something. Like you bumped your head on the toilet paper holder while taking a shit or something. |
