I had an idea as to how we could deal with all these spammers.

Could we lock the new thread function for mew members until they have posted on a certain number of other threads. Or better yet, make them wait a week before an account can post. Something though, this is ridiculous.

^HAHAHAHA

I would agree though we have got to find a stronger way to prohibit spammers.

Or at the very least, appoint a veteran here to moderator and watch for spammers and kick em outta here.

I could do that biggrin.gif

Yeah I dunno why we don't have a more active moderator or admin dealing with it. I was always on top of them, it's not that hard...

In reality, an administrator is much better equipped to deal with spammers because not only can they stop the user from posting from that account, but they can IP ban and e-mail address ban which leads to a marked reduction in future spammers. Adding just a dozen or so e-mail domains to the ban list cut down spammers here about 90%.

It's part of the reason I was made a mod. Because of time zones, I'm supposed to clean up at times where many of you would be asleep. It's been a busy week for me though, plus I'm still working on DSCOTY...and I didn't catch the fact that the last guy was a spammer.
