I finally had the time to get the bugs off the front of my car, wash the car, do some touch up on some paint chips, and wax the car.

Finally it is presentable! cool.gif

This is my 2003 Mazda Protegé 5. No modifications except for the rims which are Advanti Racing.

I will stand, or I will fall. But I will not sit.

I am digging the rims on that thing. Much nicer looking than stock.

I really love the looks of the Protege5's. The guy I bought my car from had one and I was admiring it while I was there.

Well, I like that car. That's the car I would have gotten had I I gotten my Protege about four months later, when the Protege5 was actually being sold sad.gif. Anyways, you're replaced the wheels with much better ones, which was the only thing that I didn't like about the Pr5, so yay!

Very nice rims on that! I'm not a big fan of aftermarket rims, but those look perfect.

Thanks all! smile.gif

I am very happy with the car. My only wish is that it had more horsepower. Another 30 hp minimum would be great (currently 130 hp). Apparently the Mazda 3 hatchback will be 160 hp which sounds a little better. thumbs_up.gif

Interesting comment. How come ? Rims completely make or break the look of a car, and most factory rims stink....IMHO

I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket rims either gotvenm, because I think factory rims are pretty nice looking for the most part...at least, they go well with the car they're on (there are exceptions, of course..)

I think it's much much much harder to pick the "perfect" aftermarket wheel for your car because there are just soooo many out there that look like shit.

And don't even get me started on dubs and spinners and all that shit...

But what about bling? And, and, and, all the extra weight of 22" wheels?

I remember when I read some article when they put 24" wheels on a SVT lightning...the truck gained an entire second in 0-60 time.

Oh the horror! Stock I think the new ones have 18" wheels. They look pretty good IMO. And plenty quick.

Ah that reminds me of the time I was climbing some grade on a big highway somewhere (hell if I remember where) and there was this 4x4 that just could NOT climb at speed because his wheels were too big for his motor laugh.gif

It's an Auto. Since most of my driving is during rush hour it made more sense. It's got the 'manual' shifting though which can be fun to play with at times.

Never having learned how to drive standard is pretty embarassing though. I must change that soon... sad.gif

Especially since last year a friend of mine offered me the keys to take his Aston Martin DB5 for a few laps around a race track. Uhmmm... Not the best car to learn on so I had to say no. head.gif

I like the stock Mazda rims.... and those two, Mazda has the nicest stock rims in its catagory in my opinion at the time.
