That's a lot of dirt! Doesn't look like that much of a hole from the photos. It is definitely a huge amount of dirt. The overall slope is pretty close to 3' from the back right corner, which is the lowest, to the front left, which is the highest. The county I live in requires that the dirt be tested for strength. I don't know when that will happen but after that I'll get the concrete poured. |

Wait, what the hell is even the point of the dirt?

Ah. Wow, I'm an idiot. So do they pack it down before building on it? They drove the dump truck over it like Austin Powers trying to turn around a golf cart in a narrow hallway. I suspect the concrete dudes will pack it further if required. It rained briefly on Saturday and water pooled on top instead of just being absorbed so it's packed pretty tight already. |

Still waiting on the dirt analysis. I called today and they said I was in the queue so maybe this week. The weather is cooling off a little so I may work on the VW. I'm definitely going to do some welding, I'm going to try some stainless steel.

Well maybe my call got them out of their chairs and out to test my dirt. I noticed some holes in my dirt when I got home today.
Hopefully it passed and I'll be getting my concrete soon. |

The concrete dudes showed up at 6:15 this morning and started putting up the forms. Hopefully I'll be posting pics of my new slab this evening.

No slab, but they did get the forms up and dug out the dirt for the footers.

Concrete is done. I thought they were going to do blocks to build the frame on but they didn't, so I don't know what they'll do instead.

Looks good man, it is really coming together. Thanks. I think the concrete is going to cure for a couple of weeks before it would be wise to do any framing on it. I've got some time off the week of Labor Day and the following week so some progress will be made on one of my many projects for sure. |

This photo doesn't make it look very big but those are 10' walls. Scissor trusses for extra ceiling height. |

Part of the roof installed today. The side I never photograph is missing a window. My garage doors. Sorry for the craptacular colors, the white balance setting on my camera was not correct so I had to GIMP it. I clever place to store a pencil. |

The whole thing is covered now. But the fit kinda sucks at the top. 16'x8' door and service door are installed kinda. The springs for the large door were sitting there on the floor and the track is hanging from zip ties. Soffit vents also visible. |

The roof is shingled and the vinyl gables and trim are up. Boring shots from inside. This is facing the north wall. And the south side with all the doors. Sorry for the fuzzy picture, I was excited. I'll be calling the brick man and electrician tomorrow. I ordered some color samples for the floor epoxy today. |
