The fifth and last generation Bonneville was a total redesign from the fourth generation model. It was built
on General Motor's H-Body front wheel drive platform which has been in production since 1986 and is still as of
2009. The H-Body playform is still used as the underpinnings for the Buick Lucerne and LeSober. The H-Body will be retired with the end
of the Luceren's production in 2010. Available in two trims the Bonneville could be had in SLE form, GXP or SSEi. '
The GXP was equiped with a Cadillac Northstar 4.6l V8 motor producing 275hp and 300ft/lbs of torque giving it the ability
to carry its fat ass from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. The SSEi model could be had with a 3.8 liter supercharged Series II L36 V6 motor
good for 240hp and 280 pounds-feet of torque. The SLE was equipped with this same block, however naturally aspirated. This
resulted in a car with 205hp and 230ft/lbs of torque. In 2004 The SSEi was droppd, the GXP was redesigned and the SLE was given the former GXP's looks for 2005 model year.
Production ended in 2005.
No manual transmission was offered in any package ever. In the last year of production 12,000 of these machines were sold
and in May production ended. It was replaced by the Pontiac G8. If you like to drive full size front wheel drive boats then I guess this could be a
car for you.
curb weight ~ 3600lbs.

Finding coordinating images is somewhat hard. But here are some samples.

Can we, like, just average all the Pontiacs and throw the steaming result in Neutral or lower, please?

Hah. I've got a "thing" going here in honor of the brand which was mercilessly cut from GM after it went bankrupt. I'm not going to do all of their cars just their recent ones and some oddball older cars.

I remember when I saw one of these for the first time (I must've been 14), I though, "Whoa that's cool." No fucking joke. We haven't gotten Pontiacs since the 80s in the Middle East so I was bewildered by how they looked, compared to all the cookie-cutter, Japanese my family owned.

Looking at it now, the car really had nothing going for it did it? It was ugly (though the facelift helped) and a failure as a sports sedan. I don't think they come much uncooler than this.

Sure.

And to me, this is a car that looks like the type of person who owns it...particularly, elderly people.
