I'm in a hot hatch mood so you guys get to vote on my fav hatchback ever.

Turbo AWD inline 4. Its the same 1.6 block that found it's way into the miata and is good for around 400 hp internally. The cars start with a mere 134 hp but with just a boost controller they can see around 180. Personally I love these little headbangers but they're not exactly the prettiest car ever so finding a good picture is near impossible. Anywho VOTE AWAY!!

i wish it would put out a little more power, stock.

its cool, but it definitely has a lot more potential than mazda gave it.

Keep in mind 5 liter when this car was new most vehicles of this size (just above geo metro) had 64 horsepower.

sorry, but no. There are a gazillion things i'd pick before this in the hot hatch field. (I mean affordable hot hatch) first being: VW Golf GTi 16v Mk II.

Wouldn't even touch a Golf with a stick. They're nice to look at but damn... They're so much nicer when somebody else owns them.

i realize that. Thats why this is cool. I needs a little bit more for it to be ice cold though.

With it's all-wheel drive and strong turbo 4-pot, this is the coolest hatchback ever sold in America. biggrin.gif

The GTX is a dog, but the GT-R is pretty good. If only they had transmissions actually capable of handling the power this gemlike engine makes with just BPU... over here fresh gearboxes are in short supply, so they are hugely expensive. You see dirt cheap GT-R with blown gearboxes all the time.
