Hmmm, last wensday, I checked the oil, and it was over the oil limit by far and I seen white puffy stuff on the dip stick, so I thought I was fucked and thought my head gasket was blown. I got it presure tested and it was alright smile.gif . Got an oil change and still don't know what made the oil go up sad.gif ...I hope my car is alright. I guess theres nothing wrong. The manifold was smoking a lot of white smoke, but I whiped off all the water and it stopped, so thats alright too. My car is alright, except for one more thing. This sweet burning smell has been smelling in my car a lot latley. All my fluids are full except my assisted streering liquid is taking a shit kicking(and this shit is exspensive) and about 1 cup every week is leaked out some how. I got someone too check it over, and he said everything is good. What COULD be that SMELL? I still think its the power steering liquid. Can anyone else describe the smell of burnt assited steering liquid? head.gif

Hmm, since my car doesn't have power steering I can't help you there tongue.gif hehe
I dunno though, my Corsica always gave off this sweet smell. No idea what it was and the car was always reliable up until the point where the waterpump went out. But the sweet smell wasn't burning coolant. You'd know what that smells like.

My power steering unit in my BMW uses Tranny fluid, and my Firebird uses power steering fluid.

A sweet smell is antifreeze, your head gasket or intake gasket* is probably blown, or has a very very small crack, and unless he checked every cylinder AND the intake*, then it would probably go undetected. Water also makes oil turn white and cloudy.

I would change the headgasket, its easy.

*Some cars have coolant passages running into the intake manifolds too.
