Just an idea, but I think it would be pretty cool if we had a diesel station chat. What do all of you think?

http://pjirc.viper007bond.com/index.php
channel: DieselStation
IRC network: irc.p44.org

This link has the fields already filled in for you :
http://pjirc.viper007bond.com/?channel=Die...ork=irc.p44.org

Edit by dylan: To connect, type this:

CODE
/server -m irc.p44.org -j #DieselStation

I think we had to have one once (or maybe I'm just thinking about something else) but it was sorta dumb. Maybe if we had topics...but then, that's the purpose of the forums, so a chat would be redundant. It's not a bad idea, but it needs to be thought out a bit.

Nah, I don't think a chat is necessary, especially when, like Clark stated, we have forums. Maybe if DS.com was just a site and no forum... Besides, IRC isn't the most user friendly thing... And it isn't free. Unless you use trillian. wink.gif Love Trillian Pro (*cough* free*cough*)

IRC is also free if you use mIRC, RJ. In fact, there are multitudes of free IRC clients out there...I've never even heard of having to pay for it tard.gif

Thank you for evaluating mIRC. mIRC is shareware, which means that it can be evaluated for 30 days, after which it needs to be registered if you wish to continue using it. The registration is a one time payment of US$20.00, and licenses you to use future versions of mIRC as well.

Oh...well, I'm just out of the loop then. Back when I downloaded and installed mIRC it was a free and full version, adware and spyware-free. Man, that must have been long ago...I feel old now wink.gif

Yup. I got it for free a while back too... But as the saying goes... "The best stuff is free, and if it isn't, it's probably better." wink.gif

No lie. It's like being caught behind a whole line of school buses and a dump truck, often I find myself lightheaded from all the fumes.

The -m tag creates a new connection. You don't need the -m if you aren't on any other networks.
