Thank you GUYS!! my favorite part of the night, was dancing with my wife, and just seeing how carefree and happy she was. I felt like.. yeah.. i did that! hahah.. oh and we had an 80's band and they ROCKED. Also pretty happy that ALL my friends came up to my and said it was the best wedding they've ever been to. woot!

Congrats man! And I wish you guys the best of luck in the future.

Also, how long did it take you guys to plan out the wedding and stuff? How far in advance did you set the dates? I'm just trying to figure all of this out now

^Or you elope.

I would encourage anyone thinking of getting married to just elope. Cheaper, simpler, and you'll have more fun.

My culture and family requires I have an unnecessarily large and elaborate wedding. At least I've managed to convince them that we don't need to do more than one event.

I feel for you.

One nice thing about Canada's complete lack of cultural identity means that there are very few traditions that people insist on observing.

haha Good luck with that. I am going to bet you are going to end up with a 3 day event like all other weddings.

honestly.. i didn't mind the process at all. i mean yeah it was stressful, but the feeling of satisfaction at the end of it and seeing the entire family together and having fun and just.. sharing in our day was all worth it. We couldn've planned everything all at once, but we did it as much as our money and budget could apply. some weeks we'd pay off whatever we could, and other weeks, we'd had wait for our paychecks.

For larger items, we relied on our credit cards. But the great thing about asian weddings is that they give money instead of presents, so in the end, we came out on top about $5k. we spent a total of about $23k.

We spent about a year total in planning, but again, we did the slow route and only as much as our money available at the time.

If and when I get married, I will ask my guests do the same. I don't need a fucking toaster or microwave. A benjemin or two would be a lot more helpful towards the wedding/future life process.
