Unless that's a black Apple BT keyboard, it's a complete knockoff.

Every review of the Touch Pad I have read say that it's behind the original iPad, let alone the iPad2. It will never be as popular as the iPad, that's a given; consumers are too simple. The iPad is well-built, well-designed, and well-marketed, but it's ultimately boring and lacking features for people who already have a laptop and want more than a big iPod Touch. For HP, it has to be about capturing the power user market... people like me, who aren't pleased by numbers ("our App Store is THIS big, unlike my dick", specs, etc), but instead by software and hardware innovation. REAL multitasking, inductive charging, the best PIM management system on any mobile platform, etc... not to mention a homebrew community that would make Steve Jobs want to gut himself with a rusty meathook if it were on iOS. Why do I like webOS? Because it's like what Apple was and represented before Steve Jobs one morning woke up and decided to steer the company into insane and utter douchbaggery coupled with putting the needs of the lazy and ignorant ahead of those who SAVED that company in the 90s and early 00s. I've been an Apple customer since my first computer, and Apple can't even have the decency to allow people like me to modify the phones that THEY BOUGHT AND OWN? The fucking shame. It's like a kick in the balls. I'm sorry I ever supported any part of their platform; I wouldn't have if I had known it was going to end like this. And this is just the tip of the goddamn iceberg. I have a shitload more that I could rant about Apple, but it's pointless; sorta like explaining evolution to Evangelical Christians from the South. EDIT: And regarding the TouchPad, I hope the reviewers stay true to their word and re-evaluate after the first OTA-update comes out (the 18th, estimated). After all, they've done that for other tablets and phones, but a lot of these lower-grade tech sites think it's "trendy" to bash tablets that aren't the iPad. Their write-ups often had as many factual errors as negative opinions... great credibility, huh? |

Apple if you like paying $400 more for a laptop that is way underpowered compared to PC's in that price range.

so you like your DM4? I am looking to buy a laptop primarily for school work. I was looking at IBM Thinpad T420s but its about 1200; the thinkpad E420S seems like a good deal but the screen is average and battery is non-removable.

Don't know if anyone cares, but I ended up with a Lenovo Thinkpad T520. One of the biggest selling points was the fhd screen (1080p resolution). It was not cheap but that screen is worth every penny.
