copied and pasted from the thread in the car garage.
QUOTE Enough with the spy shots and speculation, here it is folks: The Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. Bologna's best automaker has just released official info and pics on its latest mighty Murc, and this one tops them all. The LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is described by Lamborghini as "exceptionally purist". The description fits as the LP 670-4 SV is more powerful, lighter and therefore faster than the already pretty quick LP-640. As its name suggests, the LP 670-4 SV boasts an increase in power to 670 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque for Lambo's 6.5L V12, all of which was achieved through simply optimizing the engine's valve timing and tweaking the air intake system. Combine those extra bulls under the bonnet with a weight decrease of 220 lbs and performance figures begin to fall fast. 0-62 mph is now achieved in just 3.2 seconds and top speed is 212 mph with the standard, small spoiler. A larger "Aeropack Wing" offering more downforce is also available, but the additional drag drops top speed to 209 mph. The LP 670-4 doesn't look like your average Murciélago, either. It's design is simple and brutal compared to the mess of angles that make up the Reventon. Up front the air intakes have been made larger for better brake cooling and the front spoiler extends much farther out. The new engine cover, meanwhile, is a marvel of design with three hexagonal transparent polymer plates supported by a carbon fiber framework. The interior has also been upholstered entirely in Alcantara and features stitching that matches the exterior color of the car. You can't argue with a car that's faster, lighter and more powerful than its predecessors, and the Lamborghini LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is certainly not a car we'd want to argue with. Check out the gallery of high-res images just released by Lamborghini and stay tuned for our own gallery of live LP 670-4 SV shots when we hit the show floor soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm going out on a flamebait here and say that if you vote uncool for this then I hope you never say you like Lamborghinis because you have no clue as to what it means for a car to be a true Lambo.

I was about to make this exact same post. Before you vote uncool because it is ostentatious, extroverted, and indiscreet, just look at the little bull on the front and remind yourself that you probably enjoy minivans because your inner-child just committed suicide. Cool SV. |

How is this thing even remotely tacky?
![]() Yeah, it's a shame it doesn't have SV scrawled across its body with some chrome thick lipped wheels and billets all around the wheels. Yeah, that's not tacky at all. |

And your definition of what a Lambo signifies is almighty? Is a Lambo over the top? Yes. Is it fucking tacky? No. Tacky in whose eyes, sir? This car is built to be a visual orgasm for those who still are 9 years old at heart. Would I daily drive one? No. It's a bit over the top for my Q-ship DD tastes. Do I think it looks bloody spectacular? Hell yes. I think you would have a point if this car weren't functionally fast as fuck, but the fact remains that it is. And since it hits the Lamborghini mission head on and in great draw-me-in-study-hall style, it is, quite simply, cool. Exactly where I'm coming from. Anyone who says this is as cool or nearly as cool as the Diablo SV is insulting the Diablo. I had a picture on my wall of this car when I was growing up. ![]() Now, I'm a fan of the original '74 LP400, but if you're going to tell me that this car wasn't the craziest looking thing on the road 21 years ago when the 25th Anniversary model came out (1988, off the top of my head, someone back me up on that.) The Diablo was awesome looking as well, but the SV had a pair of roof-mounted intakes and a spoiler. Nothing really special going on visually there. The car that really did the Diablo homage to that original Miura philosophy of being absolute insanity on 4 wheels (when it wasn't on fire), was the 6.0 GT. For reference: Diablo SV ![]() vs. Diablo GT ![]() The point here is that Lamborghini has been pushing the line of crazy/ostentatious for damn near 50 years (with their reign taken away for a fleeting moment by Vector) and this car is another iteration of this message. But the point is still effectively clear - these cars have the performance to back it up. This new SV is just wicked cool in every way that makes me feel like I'm a kid again. |

I dont understand the tacky comments. How the hell is it tacky? Tacky is when something is totally out of character or image for a car anyways .. like a wing on a Civic or a Kia with 20" chrome wheels. The wing the front lip all add to the image of a car thats for hardcore enthusiasts only. Its supposed to make noise, turn heads and on 3th sunday of the month when the moon is full go very very quickly. Thats the sole aim of the car. Its not a boremobile like the Astons. Its supposed to be flashy.

I think too many people have forgotten cars like the Diablo SV and the Countach, and just remember the Audi-era Lambos. It's not that the current cars aren't dramatic, but they lack the visual violence, and vulgarity of past models. Yes I said it, the Diablo SV/GT and the Countach were absolutely vulgar to look at, and I loved it. They looked like the consumer focus groups consulted were a bunch of five year olds.
Like Dorifto said, Lambos are supposed to make you feel like a kid again, and the current range (Reventon included) just seem a tad mature. The Zonda and even the Enzo do a far better job in this respect. |

I love Lambo's. What it means to me is different to what it means to you. It doesn't remind me of my childhood because the McLaren F1 was the car I always dreamed of. I actually find the Diablo SV obnoxious...I would NEVER buy it with my own money. And a car I dont wish to buy is a car that isnt special FOR ME.
The LP640 is devlish and menacing, but in an elegant way. It oozes class...this on the other hand is way to much look at me for my taste. The Zonda, my all time fav. car has is composed of child dream, but it doesn't go off doing it in a plasticy barby doll way. That huge spoiler, ott diffuser, coloured side gills just dont tickle my fancy. Its almost puke material. It might be the ultimate Lambo, but it isnt cool. Currently my fav. Lambo is below...quite a diff. composure to this one. ![]() |

So, I just poked into this a bit more and from what I read that' snot plastic around the Murcielago. It's carbon fibre.

I like both "understated lambo" (see Gallardo) and "outrageous lambo" (see this, Diablo SV, etc.) The Gallardo would be where my money would go because I could never justify spending twice as much on a Murcielago when the Gallardo is such a great car, but I applaud the Murci, particularly this one.
