In 2002, F1's most successful car debuted. It immediately won its first race... a tradition and feeling not unknown to its designers, Ferrari, which had been on going since 1999. However, no one could predict the utter domination that the F2002 was about to unleash on the F1 racing world. Winning 14 of the 17 races in the 2002 season and another race in the 2003 season is no small feat. Not since 1988 during the McLaren Prost/Senna domination had a car/driver combo like this been seen. It took Michael Schumacher to his 5th world championship in record time shattering numerous records in the process.

Principal design by Rory Byrne, Ross Brawn, and Paolo Martinelli.

Is utter domination very cool? No, it's kinda jerky. Impressive but uncool.

What?! This is engineering at its finest! Sure, it was pretty bad for show. But, you have to bow down to its technical superiority!!

I said it's impressive, as you've rightly pointed out. However, impressive and cool are not the same thing. Paris Hilton's stupidity is impressive but not cool.

Cool car and cool picture... wink.gif

That's the first time someone else has posted any of my pictures. It's from the September 2006 Gatebil event at Rudskogen Raceway. The car is just a fully dressed up dummy that Shell ran a tire change and refueling competition on. The winner got a trip to an F1 race.

They also brought with them an F2004 (Which was real, not a dummy)

How is being extremely successful jerky? Why would Ferrari not want to win every race? It's not like they would let other constructors win races just to be polite. Dominating a sport is the whole idea...being as successful as possible. I'm not trying to say it's "cool" to dominate a sport, but it's not like Ferrari was an ass cause it dominated the season.

Amen. And it's not the car who made the utter domination. It was the driver. cool.gif
