![]() ![]() QUOTE Production 2009 –
Assembly Oppama, Japan Body style(s) 5-door hatchback Platform Nissan B platform Engine(s) 1.8L I4 MR18DE Transmission(s) CVT 6-speed manual Wheelbase 99.6 in (2530 mm) Length 156.7 in (3980 mm) Width 66.7 in (1695 mm) Height 65.0 in (1650 mm) The third generation Nissan Cube was revealed for the first time at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, on November 19, 2008. While this is the third generation of the vehicle, it is being offered in the North American market for the first time. The Cube went on sale in the U.S. in May 2009. The updated Nissan Cube features more rounded and curved styling cues than its predecessors. This evolution is most striking in the rear bumper area, in the asymmetrical rear window, which wraps around to the passenger side, and in the oval-shaped driver and front passenger windows. The rear hatch is hinged to open along its vertical axis, towards the curb. This helps loading and unloading when street parking in a crowded urban environment. Seating capacity remains at five. According to Nissan designers, the interior is inspired by the enveloping curves of a Jacuzzi to promote a comfortable and social atmosphere. Design cues include a water ripple motif that appears in the headliner and is repeated in details like the speaker covers and cup holders. Nissan has developed an extended line of accessories for Cube to encourage personalization. These include multicolor appliqués that can be placed around air vents and window switches, utility hooks and elastic bands in different colors, variable color LED accent lighting for the footwell and cup holders, and a sculptured piece of color-coordinated shag carpet that sits in a shallow well on the top of the dash. The third generation Cube is built on Nissan’s front-wheel-drive B platform and powered by a 122-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, both of which are used for the Versa. It’s available with a 6-speed manual transmission or Nissan’s automatic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The Cube is capable of US 28mpg city, and US 30mpg highway with its Xtronic CVT transmission. The e-4WD trim contains an electric rear wheel drive motor to assist the gasoline engine powered front wheels. |

Added a poll for ya since you seemed to have forgotten it. I voted uncool, I actually think it's lost a lot of its character compared to the last generation and you're basically just left with a lumpy box with odd detailing on a Versa chassis.

Dammit I thought I had figured it out finally and gotten it right, lol
I just don't like this stupid thing. it looks awkward, silly and built on a dynamically worthless chassis. That and the main selling points seem to be the style rather than the car. ![]() |

The previous generation was cool because of its post-modern design. This is just a flabby evolution of it. Without the great design, it's just another boxy subcompact van/hatch...the Soul does it better. Uncool.

Yeah but the rules state that it needs a definitive change in status to qualify as moved. Right now, 80% of 28 is 22.4 and there are 22 uncool votes, which is not definitive.

i feel like the system is flawed, because 80% uncool and 20% neutral is not the same as 80% uncool and 20% cool. You should find an average vote thats completely weighted across all votes cast

Well if you'd like to propose a system that's functional, feel free to fire up discussion in the main cool wall thread. I definitely see what you mean in any case, but part of the beauty of the current system is how easy it is to sort things quickly instead of having to pull out a calculator or something.
