The Lexus IS F is a high performance version of the Lexus IS series of sport luxury cars. It is the first vehicle in the F marque line of performance vehicles from Lexus.[1] The first generation IS F, which premiered at the 2007 North American International Auto Show, features a larger, more powerful engine than standard IS models, improved suspension and brakes, body design enhancements, and other vehicle changes. The IS F sports 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 4.6 seconds.[2] The vehicle went on sale for late 2007 in Japan, in early 2008 in the United States,[3] and in Europe in 2008.

This thing has 8 fucking gears. I'm a sucker for crazy ass bullshit and 8-spd gearbox = cool from me. Even if it does suck balls and has no point.

8 gears is at least 1 gear too many, probably 2. It's bulbous and ugly, automatic only, heavy, and it's a Lexus. Uncool.

It looks insane, and goes like stink. Also, from a company that builds nothing but soft, luxury cars...it's a very well sorted first effort. Cool.

This is the coldest and least-inspired attempt at entering a segment the company has no place in, ever. Horribly, horribly uncool.

EDIT: Could they have made the F badge bigger? F is for FAIL.

I love the Celica of old. Same goes for the Supra. When those died and modern Toyota and Lexus were born, Toyota because the equivalent of a home appliance company. Nothing more.

The styling is cool except for the exhaust. Finally a Japanese competitor to the M3, but its still no ///M (or even an RS for that matter). It only comes in an 8 speed automatic which I think is stupid, but none the less its competition. I wouldn't mind driving one, but I'd rather have an M3 (hell I'd rather have a 335i or the B8 S4) for the money. Hopefully the next one will be better, competition is always a good thing for us as consumers.

Think about what else you could have for the money, and think about those exhausts. Fakey fakey.

I don't think BMW made the M3 just because they felt the need to fill a gap in their lineup...

For Lexus, however, that appears to have been a prime motivator behind this car.
