Full Version: Cadillac ATS pricing announced
Dieselstation Car Forums > Parking Lot > The Car Garage

Cadillac has announced the base ATS, with a 2.5 L V6 making 200bhp, will start at 33,990, or $910 less than the BMW 328i. The BMW has a 240 bhp 2.0L turbo I4.

This is also less than the Mercedes C250 ($34,800, 201 bhp from an I4 1.8L turbo).

But more than the Volvo V60 ($31,300, 250 bhp from an I5 2.5L turbo), Audi A4 ($32,500, 211 bhp from an I4 2.0L turbo), Lexus IS ($33,595, 204 from a 2.5L V6), Acura TSX ($30,010, 201 bhp from a 2.4L I4) and Infinity G25 ($32,600, 218 bhp from a 2.5L V6)

What do you think? Cadillac seems confident that the ATS can compete with the established names at their price point. Will it work?
It looks way better than the most of the german and japanese competition. Depending on how they are spec'd from the factory the end prices might be more than a couple of grand apart.
Base engine is a 2.5 I4. Basically I think it's a slightly tuned up version of the new Malibu motor.

I'm thinking Cadillac did a good job on this car. The base 2.5 is less of a 328i competitor and more of a TSX/S40/A3 competitor IMO while the 2.0T lines up nicely against the 328i and the 3.6 V6 lines up against the 335i.
I like the looks of the car and the engine choices. Interior looks decently sorted and it comes with a manual transmission. I hope this is a win for GM, then.
I always felt like Cadillac has become the gem out of all the GM manufacturers. Really hope this thing sells well.
