A few of my answers are already wrong!

Time to review, I think, a pretty great seasons racing.

1. What will be the best surprise?
These 2 questions have opinions more so than answers. The best suggestion I've heard was this year's Valencia GP.

2. What will be the worst surprise?
For me it was Mercedes overall season performance. It was great to see Nico get his first win, but the season just went downhill.

3. How many different teams will win races?
Six - McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, Williams and Lotus. Clark was the most optimistic, but I don't think many expected 6 different winning teams or 8 different winners.

4. Who will be the first driver to fail to qualify for a race?
I think we all looked at the rookie Pic thanks to Marussia's poor pre-season campaign, but for the 3rd season in a row both HRT's failed to qualify for the opener.

5. How many races will Fernando Alonso win?
3 - this was tough to see during the pre-season.

6. What will Kimi Raikkonen’s best result be?
1st - It didn't look like it would come and perhaps it was fortunate, but it was a fine come back season for Kimi. Completing all but 1 lap this season (thanks to being lapped in Brazil following his detour) and finishing 3rd in the championship.

7. Where will Caterham finish in the constructors’ championship?
10th - I really thought they would step up this season, unfortunately they didn't really close the gap.

8. Will Michael Schumacher announce a new contract for 2013?
No - Following 2 years of mediocrity, it was never going to happen.

9. How many teams will still belong to FOTA at the end of the season?
7 - The group finished the season as it began, with little FOTA based controversy that I recall.

10. Who will be the first driver to be replaced or substituted?
An uncharacteristic season with no-one being kicked into touch. Grosjean was the only man to miss a race....

11. And who will take their place?
...and was replaced by Jerome D'Ambrosio.

12. Which driver will receive the most penalties?
Despite some inspired drives, Maldonado couldn't keep away from the stewards, ending the season with 10 penalties.

13. Will Robert Kubica start an F1 race in 2012?
No - A shame, but not expected by many. I'm not sure if he ever will return, which is a great shame given his potential prior to his accident. Particularly this season when Lotus had very good pace at times, could have been his best yet.

14. Who will retire first in the Australian Grand Prix?
Nico Hulkenberg took this honour - always a difficult one to predict, given the tight chicane in Melbourne.

15. Who will win the United States Grand Prix?
Lewis Hamilton took the spoils. For some reason we all thought Button would be on it.

16. What will be the biggest political story of the year?
Off track controversy was fairly low key this year. Some technical squabbles and continued press coverage of Bernie's business. The biggest talking point for F1 was probably the Bahrain GP.

17. What will be the most entertaining race of the year?
According to F1 Fanatic the most entertaining race (as voted by readers) was Brazil. Unsurprisingly. There was little let up in the action and a lot riding on it. I'd find it difficult to disagree with that.

18. How many points will the winning driver score?
281 - I was way off.

19. Who will win the constructors’ championship?
Red Bull

20. Who will win the drivers’ championship?
Sebastien Vettel

Hey, I ended up doing pretty good at this! biggrin.gif

I disagree on question 17. I feel Brazil was exciting only because of the randomness. In terms of real racing, Austin had my friends and me on the edge of our seats. Hamilton constantly closing the gap on Vettel, Alonso making moves through the grid, Button's monstrous comeback, and other little battles.
