Full Version: Exhaust leak

So my mom's pos Isuzu Rodeo has an exhaust leak right after the cat and it sounds horrible. The hole is right on those accordion looking things. I don't have any first hand experience with exhaust systems, and was wondering if you guys could recommend a course of action. Here are some pics of the hole in question.

take to cheap muffler shop.

ask them to cut it and replace with straight pipe.
fixed.

There is a reason that piece is "flex-pipe" and not straight pipe....

They can weld in their own flex pipe. I had a muffler shop do the same for me as a cat delete.

Oh I know, I was subtly letting Benny know that you can't just weld straight pipe in, in place of flex pipe.... It will crack if you do due to the movement of the motor.
