I know this is old news - I only got around to watching WRC Italy and Argentina at the weekend and saw this news.

I think the WRC could be on it's way back up, if the start of this season is anything to go by. They need to sort out their TV coverage and rights in the UK (I'm currently downloading ESPN coverage after each event, as ESPN is an additional charge to my satellite/cable subscription), but the competition at the top has been pretty tight.

The debut for the Mini was very impressive too, not too much of a surprise seeing as Prodrive are running things and have been working on it for 2 years now. With Meeke and Sordo on board that's a pretty good driver line up too.

VW joining in will be good and they'll probably be able to throw enough cash at it to be reasonably competitive. Would be good to see another manufacturer join too.
