The first driver to be replaced was Narain Karthikeyan. Ricciardo is in from Silverstone.

It's time to review the predictions from the start of last season.

1. What will be the best surprise?
I don't really know what was to be honest. I said Pirelli tyres causing upsets, which they did to a certain degree. Any thoughts?

2. What will be the worst surprise?
Again not really that sure here. Vettel's dominance was not so much of a surprise I don't think. Personally I'd say Mercedes not getting a win or nearer the front was the worst surprise for me.

3. Which driver will be replaced first?
I said Karthikeyan earlier in the thread, but technically it was Perez after his crash in Monaco.

4. Who will he be replaced by?
As above, this was technically De La Rosa.

5. What will be the biggest political story?
Has to be the Bahrain GP for me.

6. How many races will McLaren win?
They got 6, which was double what I said.

7. Will Mark Webber extend his Red Bull contract before the end of the season?
Yes he did.

8. What will the Horse Whispererís first complaint be about?
Apparently the first gripe was with a sportswear company, claiming they were not as good as Puma.

9. What will Michael Schumacherís best result be?
Best position was 4th place in Canada, came close to the podium there.

10. Who will crash out of the most races?
This was Petrov with 4 incidents, not including his take off attempt in Malaysia, as he was a classfied finisher there.

11. Which team will have the worst reliability?
This honour was shared between HRT and Lotus, who had 8 retirements each.

12. Which rookie driver will score the most points?
Paul Di Resta.

13. Which will be the most entertaining race?
I said Canada, and it was for me - but according to the website where I got the questions from, the members there gave China a 9.2 score out of 10, compared to 9.1 for Canada.

14. Who will set the most pole positions?
Vettel of course.

15. Who will win the Monaco Grand Prix?
You guessed it - SV.

16. Who will be the first retirement at Melbourne?
Maldonado on lap 9 with a gearbox issue.

17. At which race will the driversí title be won?
Unfortunately for us, it was in Japan.

18. How many points will the winning driver score?
392 - we were way off!

19. Who will win the 2011 constructors championship?
Red Bull - I had high expectations of Ferrari

20. Who will win the 2011 drivers championship?
Sebastien Vettel.

I got a pathetic 1 answer bang on - but at least that goes to show it wasn't a very predictable season - at least not before the first race anyway.

I thought the worst surprise was Heidfeld losing his Renault seat.. As far as best surprises, there weren't any really THAT incredibly significant, just a handfull of good smaller surprises.. like Senna scoring his first points, India's Inaugural GP being a success and the success of DRS.
clarkma5
Yeah, DRS working out well was something I was pleasantly surprised by. Barring a few tweaks to the size of some of the DRS zones I'll be happy to see it back next year. I like how it offers different constructors a different way to balance out the cars...is an effective rear wing a priority or is having the best DRS a priority? Seeing teams racing each other with opposing philosophies gives fundamental pace and strategy differences that contribute to the show.

I'm sad that Istanbul's off the calendar...I know commercially it was a flop but it's a great track.
