Full Version: Time to upgrade my D40X - D90 + lens or D7000 body only?
Dieselstation Car Forums > Multimedia > Photography > Gear & Equipment

My first serious camera was the D40x I got about 3 years ago.
I upgraded my glass over the past 3 years and my current line up is the following:

nikkor 16-85 VR
nikkor 70-300 VR
Nikkor 50mm f1.8

I think it's time to upgrade my d40x body and get something new.

I am considering getting a d7000 body only and keeping my current lens line up or getting a D90 and a lens.

What would be the better choice?

If I do decide to get the D90 + lens, may replace the 16-85 with something better or keep my current lenses and get a fourth. What do you think?
I have a D90 now and I love it but looking at the specs of the D7000, it looks like its worth the extra money to upgrade. Then again new, higher-end glass is always better.

I have a D90 and am planning to upgrade to a D700 or D800 (after release) in the near future. The D7000 has pretty good specs, but I think your money would be worth more on other equipment. Just my two cents
