Full Version: Should I Swap out my Canon 40D for a T1i?
Dieselstation Car Forums > Multimedia > Photography > Gear & Equipment
TheChazz
So a pretty basic question, Should I trade my 1yr old 40D body for a "lesser model" but New T1i?

The reason? I want to start playing around with a little bit of HD video. Nothing crazy but I have so many times i just say to myself I WISH I HAVE VIDEO! I considered buying a Canon HG10, but I don't want to deal with carrying both my DSLR and HD Vid Cam.

So overall, anyone have any input? Anyone want to trade?

Mr.D
There is no real autofocus system on a DSLR, so if you want to do much video get a real video camera.
If you can handle manual focus and you are fine with it, then get the T1i, 7D or wait for 60D.
TheChazz
Im just peddling around with the video, nothing crazy. I plan to run mostly MF with it anyway so I can jump DOF from time to time.

Thanks for the input!
TW0R
Id just save up for the 7d.
