I don't know if any of you still play this or if I'm the only one. Either way, the latest update to BF2 was released today. Now it's version 1.5

Why is it significant?

I play it at LAN parties and that's about it.

I'm kinda surprised they even released a patch for BF2. DICE has a pretty lousy reputation for post-game support. I figured if anything they'd patch up 2142 and concentrate on Battlefield Bad Company 2 and BF 1943 for PC.

I still play BF2 when I can.

I'm probably horribly out of touch, but does anyone even play BF2142 anymore?

I played the demo, and it was kinda shit...like Unreal...
Phix
I dunno how the servers are for 2142. I guess people would play? I played the demo and I liked Titan mode.

The real question is... does anyone still play Battlefield: Vietnam?
Bjorn
I play it every now and then for something different to do, but BF2 kills it.

BF2: commonly release updates still - a patch wasn't out of the assumption for me.

2142: Still have and still play more than others which is admittedly infrequent in gross. Not a bad game overall, unlocks are more useful and dynamic. Graphics aren't bad, more realist war theater (dust coming up from bullets, explosions, hovering jet dealie actually make a game-play difference). More teamwork to say the least - you command squads with incentives and put down spawn pads for pods as squad leader in strategic places. Hard to do much alone on a server with more than 12 people - especially on Titan whereas in BF2 a lot of people sit back and snipe or charge the front to just find stuff to kill.

Vietnam: Still easiest helicopter flying experience and therefore popular on LANs. Not a lot play it, but those who do mainly play it alone.

What are your soldier names Mustangaficionado?

I used to play all the time. Now it's a little more on and off. El_Drew is my soldier name for both BF and 2142. I may play when I visit my parents this weekend.

There were rumors of a 1.6 patch for 2142 last aprilsih which was supposed to include two new maps. I dont know what happened to that. But I am happy to see them tweak the crouching benefits in BF2. I hate claymores.

I played a little bit last night. I had a lot of "You have lost connection to the server" type messages. Resetting my computer fixed that. I haven't noticed any of the major gameplay changes. The Armored Fury and Euro Forces maps are a nice change, I hadn't played them before.

My character name is ATF_sushi-chef and I usually play in the "ATF Hump 'em and Dump 'em" server.
