So Newegg is having a sweepstakes (I wont provide you with the link because that would decrease my chances of winning, sorry) and they're giving away a Rebel T1i and a car, one of the three listed above. And if when I win, which should I get?
Razor
What an unfortunate group of choices.
clarkma5
I'd get the 128i, assuming it was a sport package coupe with a manual.
MustangAficionado
I think if i wanted a 170rwhp car that got 16mpg I'd buy a car from the 70's

Exactly what I was thinking about that one.

You know it's going to be a bare-bones convertible.
porschedream
Reliability and poor gas mileage issues aside, the RX-8 is the best handling car of the bunch and will offer you the most fun despite being torque-less. 128i isn't going to nearly as fun and will cost too much to maintain, and well the GTI is FWD.
dukenukem
Get the most expensive car of the lot, sell it and spend the money on hookers and blow.
Pez
I'd go for the RX-8 just because it'd be the funnest to drive.

The 128i is manual, unsure about sport package but its doubtful.
clarkma5
Well if it wasn't a sport package you could always sell your Saab for some nice coilovers.
b0mb3r
I would get the MKV, you can mod the hell out of it (I know I have one). And really the whole stigma that FWD cars aren't fun to drive is false.

Nah, I'm saving the Saab for when Koenigsegg instates a trade-up program and I can hop into a CCX. thumbs_up.gif
Altostratus
get a 1956 cloud
moe
RX-8 all the way. All of those are pretty solid choices though.

BMW, sell it, sell your current ride and buy a 135i. Such a awesome car.

I feel like thats the best plan. Maybe not a 135i, but something along those lines. 370Z maybe? Or a used S4?
moe
A used S4 would be pretty sweet.

Damnit Lancer, you ruin everything.

None of us are going to win anyway.

Don't be such a downer Debbie!

The picture shows a 128i w/ sport package, I'm still between that and the RX8. I think the 128i would have less issues than the RX8, but can't the RX8 make some serious power modded? Modding a 128i to make power is pretty difficult, if it was between a 135i and an RX8, that'd be a no brainer lol.
clarkma5
I don't think the Renesis is an easy engine to get power out of. Between the three cars, the GTI would definitely have the easiest time of getting more grunt from it.

Telling us it was from Newegg kinda gave it away. The LARGE BANNER on the main page totally didn't tell me where to look for the Contest...

You can get the RX-8 supercharged and blow everything away.
clarkma5
I only see one non-CARB legal supercharger for the RX-8 which has to be sourced from Asia and it's $7000 plus installation costs. You can do a stage 3+ 2.0T for half that.

And guess what? It would still be front-wheel-drive.

That isn't the problem. The problem is that it's a VW.

Wow that's seriously unfortunate, about the advertising I mean. I don't know what I would have chosen... they're all kinda meh. Probably the RX-8.
