Dr. Strangelove

Holy sweet mother of God...

That movie made me ponder the strong correlation between an engine being good and an engine sounding good. Astonishing, no?
Uwe
I bet you can break every speedlimit with this machine on italian roads and there will be not one single cop who pulls you over.
mitch_f1
your wrong...they would pull you over...but only to look at it closer.

I can only wish :'(

Oh my God! I did a bad thing... I've fallen hopelessly in love with classic Ferraris.

Damnit! I need to drive one.
Aircooled
That's such an arousing sound
moe
Wow.
fiber optic
That may be why I like driving cars. But my love for cars goes far beyond just the driving experience. It has to for me since none of my cars are "driver's cars".
RallyCat909
I cried. Thank you.

Sound of the gods
moe
Thank you Ferrari.

On a separate note. I hate how everyone around here seems to have a custom exhaust on their Ferraris. They turn Godly sounds into something vulgar.

Mmmmmm SG motorsports headers and 3.5" race exhaust. (developed for a race car.)
Aircooled
^Meh, nowhere near as good as the ferraris. Kinda had a farty sound to it.
Benny
yes but 35 wheel horsepower over stock is badass. and besides, nothing can sound like a ferrari.

That 350z sounds shitty, it's just really loud noise.
Dr. Strangelove
Another video that reminds me why I love cars.

Thread redemption?
Dr. Strangelove
Bringing it back for one of the mos amazing sounds of all time. Ferrari V8 with Twin turbos,, anti lag, and a straight cut gearbox.

Also Jacques Lefitte:

The 350 barely sounds like a car.... tongue_crossed-eyes.gif

Gotta love Ferrari engines, best sounding cars. Although I have to say it sounds 1000x better while being near/in the car.
Dr. Strangelove
Bump for another amazing old Ferrari.

God, pavement to dirt to gravel back to pavement. Perfect.

Just how? HOW?! How do you grow balls big enough to go sideways on a street thats hardly bigger than the car itself. Also on the offroad part, it looks like he's looses it almost, but then you watch this one you totally take that back.

at 35 seconds most normal human beings would be in the wall, and he hardly stresses. Also check out how he knows exactly how much opposite lock is needed.

Show someone from Nascar those two videos and he'll go cry and ask himself why the world is a round, and the sky is blue etc...
Dr. Strangelove
OMFG OMFG OMFG

porsche944
whats the push pull knob thingie on the dash of the ferrari in the first video?
Dr. Strangelove
And one more why not?

Probably choke or a throttle control for idle. Could it be mixture?
Dr. Strangelove
Brought it back again!

I don't know. I could go either way on it, he doesn't have his motor specs listed anywhere.
Aircooled
I like my bug, but it honestly would be the last vehicle I would want to track.

You'd be lucky if there were any parts still holding on after a lap anyway. tongue.gif

I read about this in an issue of Car Craft a couple of months back.

^ Me and a BMW tech friend of mine keep shooting the idea around of swapping a 335d motor into an e30.

Mountains of torque. The bimmer's 3.0 liter unit pumps out 425 ft-lbs at 1750 rpm.

Well I know that, but diesel maintenance/repair eludes me.
