QUOTE
Scion tC is a compact car introduced by Japanese automaker Toyota in 2004 as a concept car under its recently introduced Scion brand name. Toyota later debuted the production tC at the 2004 NAIAS with sales beginning in June 2004 as a 2005 model year. The Scion tC is generally considered Toyota's successor to the Celica whose production ended with the 2006 model year. The name tC does not fit in with its stablemates the xA, xB, and xD, because the name xC has already been taken by Volvo for its XC60, XC70 and XC90 models. According to Scion, tC stands for "Touring Coupe."

The Scion tC was designed to appeal to the Generation Y market. Toyota hoped to do so by making standard features numerous and optional features extremely easy to add. The Scion tC shares its chassis with the Avensis[1] which is sold in the European market, with the Camry's 2.4 L 2AZ-FE I4 engine. Its low price (base MSRP of US$17,000 for the 2008 model) is a major feature, as well as the pure pricing marketing style that Toyota has adopted.

Major standard equipment included a power windows, cruise control, air conditioning, keyless entry, mirror-mounted turn signal lights, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, a 160-watt Pioneer sound system with CD player, 17" alloy wheels and a panoramic moonroof.

Scion tC commercial. It sucks.

I would vote neutral but my douchey ex had one of these so uncool.
350Z
I really hope you're not referring to Diesel.
clarkma5
lulz no.

Before anyone votes neutral or cool, consider this: this car is the culmination of Toyota's long and illustrious tradition of producing enthusiast-oriented cars based upon serious motorsport contention.

This car.

Toyota has forsaken the gearhead. It should be shunned.

i kinda like it

No, you don't.

The only cool thing about the car is the double moonroof. Thats about it.

Fun fact: Toyota killed the MR2 and Celica to bring about the Scion brand.

Yeah. Great decision!

I voted neutral because it was pretty neat when it came out. It was a decent car that was easily modified for not a whole lot of money. But now that I think about it, it was voted the number one gay car like 2-3 years in a row, and that it was built to fill a gap in Toyota's marketing strategy. Someone change to uncool for me.

Damnit, you're missing the point. This car is what is wrong with Toyota. They think this is what we want. We. As in our demographic. And if you like this car, then I am obliged to not like you. I miss my SW20s, my AW11s, my MKIIIs and MKIVs, my All-Tracs, hell, even my AE86s.

And if you have to look up any of those terms, then you have no concept of how much this car actually sucks.

I voted neutral, but I really should've voted uncool. It's vanilla-bland econobox, no more, no less.
4wheelfreak
^plus many of those who buy them think and act otherwise. Moreover, you can get it riced out from the factory. I'd rather drive a 30 year old minivan.

Its a decently priced cool coupe for those who first get their cars. My friend has a cleanly modded one with Rays G-Games wheels, hotchkis springs, shocks and sway bars, plus a couple of other mods, and his car actually handled very decently. Toyota offers a supercharger that adds a little more power, but if you're driving a stick a stage 0 turbo (or supercharger, my friend always talks about it) on this car is pretty quick and they can make some decent power. I agree with everyone that Toyota should actually make FUN cars to drive, but for what it is, this car is pretty cool..

For what it is, syphilis isn't too bad of a STD. But, unlike syphilis, penicillin doesn't cure Toyota's forsaking the enthusiast.

My jihad against this car isn't complete until it is uncool.

I own one, feel that it is a good econobox for the money when I bought it and liked the styling...I could get past all the poser marketing and ricing and see that this was a great package.

Then 2 years later it was named 2007 Twinkmobile of the year by GayLife.

Guess what I am voting for.
Phix
ahahaha, twinkmobile. I think we just found out the REAL reason why Diesel ditched his...

"Riced" is debatable. Toyota does offer a pretty extensive range of performance parts available as dealer add-ons, which isn't unlike the Mini...you wouldn't call that riced would you?

Also a 30-year old minivan? Don't kid yourself.

In bold is the fundamental flaw in your argument. It is cool for what it is, which happens to be a Toyota...who haven't made anything cool (IS-F excepted) since the Celica and MR-S went out of production. In fact, the only thing it happens to be cool as, is a current Toyota. As anything else, it's just horribly bland and generic in every way.

The cool wall doesn't, IMO, take into account "cool for what it is," it's more of a "is it cool" in general. Also, we're looking at the stock car here, not your friend's modified car. Hell, TG proved you could modify a Lada and make it cool.
