Full Version: BMW Z1
Dieselstation Car Forums > The Cool Wall > The Cool Wall > Cool
The BMW Z1 roadster debuted in '87 at the Frankfurt Auto Show as an '88 model, and was based on the contemporary E30 325. With its 170 HP 2.5 liter inline-6, the Z1 wasn't fast (0-60 took 7.9 seconds), but it did have some cool features; the coolest of which was, far and away, the electric doors, which lowered into the sills so you can have a true open-air feeling while driving.

So, is this cool then?

Cool just because of the doors.
I went for neutral because the doors are cool but nothing else about it really is. I guess it looks a few years newer than it is...
Anyone ever seen that video where Clarkson picks up a hot girl in a short dress in the Z1...heh. Those doors coupled with that idea and its rarity make it really cool.
