Heaven's almighty, what a poor pickins. Went with the Smart for some genuine progress in its field. Second place to the Lancer for making a pretty good economy car.

Bullit? G8? XJ? Bunch of overstuffed soft fuel gulpers. Except for the XJ they're sports cars anyway.

Accord still has it's head up it's butt when it comes to design philosophy. Let's make a car version of sleeping pills with an optional motor that delivers unnecessary amounts of power that few buy. The sportcombi is cool and quirky and is not a bad car for its segment but not a serious contender.

Pontiac G8. It's supposed to be amazingly good, especially for its price. Not quite a sports car but a great sporty large sedan. It's also probably tied with the Smart for being the most significant of all these choices in the marketplace.

Has to be the G8. I cannot stand the sight of a Smart.

I had to vote for the Accord. The new styling has really grown on me; I think it looks very classy, upmarket, and elegant. The car on a whole is just crushingly competent. I believe it's one of the best all-rounders money can buy. The G8 runs it damned close, and I know it's ultimately the better drive. However, the build-quality isn't all there yet, and I'm still wary of the reliability of the Aussie-built GM cars.

The Jag, Saab, and 'Stang are just tweaked versions of existing cars, so no dice there. The Smart, although in its second generation, is a very evolutionary model. The only thing truly significant this time around is that it's going to the US. During the original model's launch, I probably would've given it my vote, but not now. Besides, it's going to have a tough next few years courtesy of the Toyota iQ, VW UP!, and even the Tata Nano, if it makes it outside of the Subcontinent. While the Lancer is plenty stylish, it's basically bringing to the table what the Mazda 3 did a few years ago. It's not even quite as good IMO.

Also, I'm brown.

I would honestly go for the AWD version over anything else here...but I'm a sucker for anything Swedish.

Change my vote to the Saab please. I initially went with the Accord just because it's a really practical, good car with good value for money. But...the Saab is just too sexy.
