Full Version: Automatic picture resizing

Sometimes high resolution pictures makes it difficult to scroll though and see the entirety of it in all its glory. l think an automatic picture resizing to fit the forum would look nice. Something like in this forum would be a good example.

We have something like that...or at least, we had it very recently.
Diesel
we had it. i can turn it back on if you want

At least make it an option. It seriously sucks.
Diesel

Damnit! I hate it.. But Finalgear forums have it too, though, it's possible to disable it in your personal config. Talk to viper smile.gif

Um.

Two completely different forum systems.

yeah he's on vbulletin though

I dislike it also. I wish it was optional member option.

I see. Well, is there a mod or something that adds it as an option?

I concur. If it was an optional feature (set by the user), it would be great.

Exactly.

If you want it, you can set your browser to do it automatically.

I assume he means the "Show Your Desktop!" thread.

Ah I thought this may be the case, what a let down - I'm still waiting for those motorsport walls.
White RSX
Fuck that.

You're on a forum for a car site about big pictures of cars and you're complaining about the pictures being too big?

Can't please 'em all I guess.
tune
Can't you understand that people with smaller screens would like to see the whole picture?
White RSX
So you scroll over?

Why ruin images with shitty compression and resizing when there isn't a problem with the current system. Large images take long enough to process and load themselves, let alone processing, loading, THEN resizing and repeating.

Board slowdown is a pain in the ass, much moreso than scrolling to the left by a few hundred pixels.
tune
Well when it was switched on, it took fuck all time in resizing the images for me. It's not the hardship of scrolling to the right (yeah not left!) it's just convenience of being able to see the image as a whole, rather than two thirds.

Not that I'm bothered either way anyway.

Fuck, get a bigger monitor then, or fix your resolution. Live in the now.

I cant STAND the image resizing..all it does is distort the shit out of an image and then take extra time on top of that to see the clear version.
Devildoll
hmm what about like big thumbnails. just big enough that they fit inside the forums without distorting it, and if you click it you will view the image full size
WardLarson
hmm what about not bumping 2 month old topics with suggestions that are essentially the same as the ones being discussed?
