I absolutely love the miata...the mazdaspeed miata is 10x better, though. It's timeless, but aggressive, while still not being pretentious. Plus it's fast and a kick in the teeth to drive...frozen.

pros: - power
- sporty handling
cons: - way overpriced for a Miata
- you look really gay driving it

Overpriced for a miata? The damn thing is a bargain!
Miata LS 6-speed - $26,098
Mazdaspeed Miata - $26,325
You get all the power and suspension goodies for a couple hundred more than a LS 6-speed! The Mazdaspeed MX-5 is within spitting distance of an elise on the track, too, for $15k less, while also being a better car to drive on a daily basis.

I'm a huge huge HUGE Miata fan and my only gripe with them is the fact the hardtops are hard to come by. FROZEN!

4cyl...turbocharged engine making 172 BHP mated to one of the best sportscar chassis this side of Le Mans...I would almost get one over an RX-8...but the rotaries get me every time
my accountant has banned me from Mazda dealerships

Actually, I remember reading something (i think it was on these forums) that Mazda is planning on adding the option of a rotary engine for the future Miatas.

i have now read that that was just a rumor...however the next mazdaspeed miata is susposed to have a V6...which is cool if it doesent mess up the chassis ballance...which is the whole case for putting a rotary into the car...200lbs. engine making 250BHP in a miata...smoking
This summer a buddy of mine and I bought a junker miata with the intention of putting a 13B twin turbo in it (230BHP...) but before we got to it the province re-called the car...saying it was sold to us with a bogus safety...and made the dealer pay us our money back...but no car! so sad

Its a beautiful car, amazing handling. I sat beside one at a red light once awhile back and I just stared at his car the entire time examining every little bit of it. Believe it was freaking the guy out, but I love the car. Sub zero!

Frozen. I drove one and if it came ina true coupe form (aussie) then yeah. Mazda just needs to get rid of the pistons...

This is the equivalent to the aussie Mazda MX-5 Special Edition right?
meh.. it's alright. I hopped in it and then an S2000 right after. The s2k is mind blowingly more fun, better looking, faster and better to drive.
The MX5 however.. was an easy pease to drive and could easily live with it everyday.
Then again, with abit of work i'm sure you could make the MX5 more "fun" than the S2k

*Cough RX-8 cough* It's cool, it's been cool since it came out. It just had such an impact on the sport car market, and it's great VFM too.

Until it ships with a 4V 4.6L V8, it'll have to settle for just barely cool.
