I had a meet & greet last weekend at a cafe with area models/photogs. After chit chat and dinner, we did some test shots and I wanted to get your opinion on these. I read on Garage Glamour a while back about how a guy shot some pics for Maxim at a cafe and he gelled the background to make it more interesting so that is what I did here. He had umpteen thousands of dollars in ring lights and studio flashes so my pics don't compare but I think I'm headed in the right direction.
I used 3 speedlights. The two SB-600's camera left and right fired into umbrellas and had 1/4 CTO gels on them. My SB-800 with a CTB gel was on a low stand aimed at the background. I triggered everything with my SU-800 and RadioPoppers (these things kick ASS!).
Looking at them, I don't think that I got enough light on the background. Next time, I'll have to bring along my monolight & ghetto vagabond. What else would you guys do different?
