When did this happen? Have I been living under a rock? I was going through the Porsche website, and came across a microsite for the Boxster Spyder. No radio, no a/c, no cupholders...sounds like a stripped-out special.

Just announced today. I think it looks fucking badass and like a mini-carrera GT.

I love it. Porsche seems to have been trying pretty hard to get back to its routes lately (all the funky paintjobs and script, the Carrera Classic, etc). Some of it is trying too hard, but this definitely hits the spot.

Damn, look at that. Fabric door pulls and everything. I really like the new visual bits too, I'll take one.

Less weight means more expensive materials, plus it has more power, a sportier and lower suspension, it looks freaking cool, and will be rare. It's only $3200 more than the Boxster S, sounds very reasonable.

Very nice! This is like a 21st century version of the old 964 RS America...ok, this Boxster is more expensive than the base model (whereas the RS America was the cheapest 911 you could buy) but it's less than a Carrera to the tune of almost $20k (and what are you gonna do with this Spyder model, pimp it out with a million bucks worth of options?), lighter, and generally quite awesome.

The rear deck is a bit weird...but it's cool. Now let's hope they use these same parts to make a Cayman ClubSport...mmmm Cayman ClubSport *Homer Simpson-esque drooling noise*

Inside Line's review here. I'm so in love.
