Dejan Sokolovski
Heya guys.

As for those who doesnt know the Mustang GT/CS is sold, half year ago or so...
So I now drive a BMW 530i -04.

The BMW is totally stock and in great shape, the paintjob on it is supernice and clean since it was repainted
some months ago... smile.gif

What's done to it so far is:

* 19" M5 wheels
* Painted flat black grille up front
* Put a Motorsport front lip on the OEM front today, still waiting to be repainted and such-

here are some images:

Here's a stock E60, the front lip really makes difference!

What I want to do to it is pretty much just painting stuff to
make it a lill bit different to a stock 5-series.

I was thinking about:

* Painting with either vinyl or paint the chromed lists around the windows on the side
* Tinting the car with a not too dark film, I want to have it on the front side-windows too and I dont want cops to stop me, so it has to be pretty light.
* Flat black stripe that goes along the side of the car and also covers the door handles, the door handles should be painted I guess, flat black too.
* Painted wheels in either gun metal or glossy black, or flat black?
* Mirrors to be painted in flat black aswell, maybe?
* Custom exhaust to make it a lill bit more noisy in high RPM's, I want to keep it quiet in low RPM's tho.
* Polish up the front headlights, they're a bit blurry...

Here's a quick PS illustration of how it might look, what do you guys think?:
Should I dump something out?

Personally all I would do is lower the suspension by about 25mm or so. Then leave it be.

I like the grille. Is it a manual or automatic?
Dejan Sokolovski
It could deffinatly need a lowering yeah! I'm just afraid the ride will be worse, since this is a daily driver and not really a racer at all, all I want is to make it a lill bit cooler.. :]'

It's a 6 speed manual..
moe
Wow, you're the first person who I've ever met with a manual 5-series. Also, don't paint the rims black. I know a guy that has M5 knock-offs, painted black, and they look terrible.
Dejan Sokolovski
haha really? Manual's are quite regular seen here in Sweden, I know its very different in USA with people rather choosing automatics et.c but probably in Dubai too.. smile.gif

what do you mean with knock offs? that the paint will fall off? that would be really bad yeah... but powdercoat them or so... FIRST of I gotta see prices tho, if it costs way too much I'm not touching them..
moe
By knock-off, I meant he has imitation M5 wheels (though he loves to tell everyone they're the real deal.) To each his own Dejan, but he painted his black, and they just look awful IMO.
Marien
The photoshopped flat black wheels look like their just very dirty with brake dust. The black stripe over the door handles might look good, but its hard to tell from the picture.
MustangAficionado
Nice ride. No one the black wheels though.
b0mb3r
the lip looks great! thumbs_up.gif
I would lower it though smile.gif
Synesthesia
Yes, I agree the lip make it look much better! And the wheels look great too. I wouldn't bother lowering it, it looks great the way it is and it'd be silly to sacrifice ride quality. I don't know about painting things black...maybe if the whole car was black...
4wheelfreak
Just chop an inch off of the stock springs Raspberry.gif
But seriously, that lip is super nice.
BadBoi
I think you should go ahead with your plans. Synthesthisia is right though... don't lower it. The black wheels, however, would look much better in real life than in that photoshop. The black pinstripe is really subtle and the tints work well and yeah, paint the rear view side mirrors to match the wheels.
Frederf
Hahaha, 25 cm.
Bjorn
^good catch, what can I say, I have been hopped up on NyQuil for the past three days.
Dejan Sokolovski
hehe.. I'm not dropping it 25 obviously.. mabe 3-4 cm at its max in that case! smile.gif

coilovers are too damn expensive, it is if I can find some nice lowering springs... hmmz

First off I gotta find a good paintshop for the frontsplitter! :>

I've got some "deals" on around 150 USD for a paintjob on that small damned part, I myself think thats too expensive... but I'm not sure,
just sounds strange.
Benny
why dont you not modify your 5-series?
Dejan Sokolovski
Benny: What do you mean?
Phix
As in leave it stock.
Benny
as in it looks fine as it is. the lip and the wheels were the 2 best things you could do with that car on your budget, keep the resale high and just enjoy your car with no degradation of ride quality
Dejan Sokolovski
haha oh I'm sorry.. I read.. "Why dont you modify blabla.." tongue_orig.gif

but yeah, probably just going for a light tinting all around and shining those headlights up with Meguiars' PlastX.
Benny
good idea.

if you wanna go crazy get a nice subtle exhaust, it may help remind you that it has a V8
Dejan Sokolovski
Unfortunatly it doesnt have a V8, Straight 6'er...

Maybe not unfortunatly tho, because the fuel economy is super nice, but got damn I miss the Mustang's V8, but not the fuel economy! tongue_orig.gif
Benny
oh i though you had a 540, i didnt read the title.
