Welcome. Nice ride - those wheels suit the car very well!

Those wheels do look good, generally it's a very clean car (not a fan of that blacked out grill emblem).
Don't go lower btw, MkIV suspension geometry gets ruined by lowering. Stock ride height (maybe down a half inch) works best in the front, you can lower the back a little more than that. If you go lower than that, the center of gravity and instantaneous roll center start to diverge and you get sloppier handling. Also, the camber curve on the front macpherson struts goes all positive if you lower it, killing your front end grip and causing massive understeer.

Looks great. The stance of the car is perfect and those wheels really do work with it.
Welcome to DS, btw.

Good choice, the MkIV is such a badass car. Especially compared to the waste of space MkV.

Yeah, that morbidly obese, automatic load of shit is terrible... who the fuck would every buy that?
Can't wait to drive down to Lime Rock tomorrow.

The MkIV R32 remains one of the best cars I've ever driven. I wish they had offered a more stripper version without the sunroof, heated seats, climatronic, etc. but oh well. Still great.

Do you happen to know what the difference is between the Mk V and Mk IV suspensions?

I don't know any of the specifics, they have the same basic layout (macpherson strut front, multi-link independent rear) but the geometries are, as far as I know, completely different, especially in the back.

Didn't the Mk IV have a reputation to understeer more than the Mk V? Or does that have more to do with the Haldex programming?

The MkV is supposed to have superior overall grip to the MkIV and I've also heard about improved transitional response, I don't think the understeer tendencies have changed a whole lot, at least not that I've ever heard.

I wonder if they have the same rear swaybar... because I remember my friend bragging about the thickness of the RS4 sway bar (22 mm) he installed on his A4, and then we found out that my car's is 22.6 mm.
EDIT: The one on the US-spec Mk IV R32 was only 15mm. I guess that answers that.

The main difference between the MkIV R32 and MkV R32 is that people actually like the MkIV

I think I might be the only person in the world who likes the Mk V sans mods.

^his car has no real bearing on the definition of a 'real' car. Lots of people drive shit cars and know that they're shit.

I got rimzz dawg. That's bound to add another 50hp right there.
Uh but no, I forgot this guy did some work to his GTi. In any case he has an MkIV R32 now so what does it matter anymore.
Also, the only reason I still have my car is because I have no fucking idea what I'm doing after I graduate next May.
