I just partitioned the hard drive on my MacBook Pro and installed Windows XP on the partition. Total time, including formatting the partition, installing Windows, and installing all the MacBook Pro drivers (video, sound, etc) was probably 90 minutes. I don't know shit about computers but was able to do it just fine (the Boot Camp Utility is very helpful). Now I can have OSX when I want (what I consider to be) a very pleasant operating system and some nice proprietary software (iPhoto FTW) and also play PC games.

The one warning I have is that Boot Camp only works with XP if you have Service Pack 2. If you've got an older version of XP, it states that it will not install it and then let you download SP2. I don't know if there's away around this if you've got an older version, but that's what it told me.

I'm so fucking psyched to be playing IL-2 Sturmovik on my MBP.

Ah, Mitlov, now you know why Macs are supreme. Let the flame war begin! tongue_orig.gif

As a side-note, the MBP has completely changed my perceptions about stuff that's made in China. It's from a facility in Shanghai and it has better build quality than any computer I've ever touched before.

Stuff in China is crappy when it's built down to a price, but the MBP proves that if it's not built down to a price, "made in China" doesn't mean lower quality than something made somewhere else.

The HIDS I sell are made in china, and they aren't like... poor quality. Theyre very nice, minus the engrish packaging

Funny you mention that... you can now LOAD the BootCamp partition with Parallels in real time. It's awesome. Use Boot Camp for gaming, Parallels if you need a simple Windows app... no issues at all. Awesome system. thumbs_up.gif
