We were talking about motorsport crashes and random related stuff recently and these two crashes came up. My dad was actually at Kyalami the day that this Tom Pryce crash happened ,and saw this shit live. It's pretty disturbing actually. Car breaks down and marshals run across the track to help. This is the end result. And these two marshals are brothers. Crazy


This other one is absolute madness. This was supposedly one of the few big crashes that 'helped' in ending Group B rally. Just watch it, it is completely insane.

wow, that first one is just sad. IT didn't even look like the car was in serious trouble(eg fire). I feel pretty bad for the driver of the car. I'm sure there wasn't much he could do traveling so fast.

The second vid is pretty nuts, did that guy make out alive? Was he using a fuel cell or a regular car steel gas tank. It looks like it was made of glass...

I didn't even mention, that the marshal that got taken out by the F1 car was carrying a fire extinguisher, which pretty much smashed the driver who hit him to pieces. That's obviously the driver that died, Tom Pryce. As far as I can recall they used to hit about 300km/h on that straight at Kyalami.

I'm guessing the marshal died as well? Nobody could have survived being struck by a (aerodynamically) sharp object at that speed.

Yeah he pretty much got f*cked. He got kinda ripped in half, his clothes were torn from his body. It was bad. That thing being tossed through the air IS the marshal.

Now I'm depressed.
