Wednesday night I went to bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube and since the NHRA nationals are in town this weekend they had the Jesse James West Coast Chopper top fuel dragster on display. Well after enough persuasion from the crowd they started it up and reved it a couple of times. In my 21 years I have been to so many different events relating to motorsports such as sprint car racing, , drag races, American Lemans races, TONS of different kinds of motorcycle races, etc. but I have never been to a NHRA national and NONE of those events compared to the 5 minutes that this dragster was running. The crew was wearing gas masks because the nitro burnt your face so bad you couldnt stand it. The sound was unbearable and it hurt the inner cavity of your chest as it was just sitting idle. The amount of shear power that this thing had is not even explainable. It was the first time I had ever forgot my camera for bike night and I cant believe I did because I will never forget it anyways but it would have been great to have on video. I searched google video and you tube and found 3 videos that have the same thing that I saw on Wedneday. The first one you can actually tell everyones reaction when they rev it up and you can see everything around get jolted like there is a damn earthquake or somthing. You can also hear the sound change and the crowd clear as they start to inject the nitro methane. As boring as drag racing is if anyone ever gets the chance to see this in person I recommend it.

That's nuts!

I remember watching the inaugural NHRA event at The Strip on the strip (Las Vegas). The feeling that an alien was about to burst forth from my chest when the fuel diggers went by was inexplicable!

That's cool, but it's all about the top thrill dragster at cedar point! That thing fucking ROCKS 0-120mph in 4 sec pulled by a 10,000 hp motor.

Yeah ive rode that too.
