I guess I'm getting a little tired of the "leave my drivers window open in order to reach in my window to open my door" technique. I need a drivers door handle. I'm assuming I'd like a brand new part considering it was obviously replaced once already before I bought the car. (different keys) I think the best price I found was...

$191.75
http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/198...or_handle.html

206.61
http://www.rmeuropean.com/Part-Numbe..._8ADE1731.aspx

I figured both of these just because I havent researched the shipping costs/options yet.

I just wanted to post here before I clicked send in case the forum could offer any advice or knew of/could find a better deal. Thanks guys.

car is 1984 944

Is the door handle missing completely or is it just one component such as this?

Sorry if this is ignorant, but just checking since this just looks like a much easier and cheaper fix if you have the actual hand grip component already.

I don't know if it's the same case- but Porsche script door handles were interchangable with regular VW handles.

So if it's the actual handle itself- you could throw a vW one on there for like $5- whereas the porsche handles were very sought after by vw guys.
