so how fast were you going? you don't have to answer if you don't want to. If the background speed an indication... driving my GTI (or any other regular sporty car) is a lot more dramatic

Assuming Easton's Elise has the same dash layout, I saw it go to just about vertical, which would be about 80MPH, or about 130km/h according to the pictures of speedometer I saw on the interweb.
![]() I dunno...I respect that a car like that needs to be driven, but if what I have heard about Australia's speeding laws are true, that's a huge risk. |

Vertical on ours is about 150km/hr, the driver just went under it. Maybe 140?
Who says it's me! Of all the aussie car hoon communities, magazines and forums i've heard from over the past 10 years - I've only ever heard of 1 instance where someone got done for putting up a video of himself hooning, and that was involving burn outs, drag racing and a clearly uncensored number plate. He was also spamming it all over aussie car forums. |

Exhaust is coming on next i'd say
The car has just hit 6000kms and it's feeling faster everyday since hitting around the 5000km mark. And I mean noticably faster, even after since refitting the hose back on. Me thinks the hose has made a difference but then hitting 5000kms has loosened things up a bit more. moar recent pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Can't agree more. It does look properly cool to be part of something like that.

Nice photos Easton, but damn, why do the blacks in your sky/shadows look like they're having out of gamut problems? Or do you just need to calibrate your monitor?

Yeah there's a shitload of glare in these photos. I've allowed it, also because it's for an owner and not a client. But I thought my monitor is pretty close to being calibrated? Is yours calibrated?

No, this monitor is not calibrated, but it's close. In certain areas I can really notice the transition of not quite black sky to pure black. It's subtle, but I can see these "edges" all over the sky and I expect your images to be perfect.

Ahh that looks to me like a limited gamut problem.
Internet browsers only support sRGB color space, which lacks the ability to show some graduations between black and just off black. I turned my brightness up on my monitor and edited it as best I can to fix it, but I can't do much else without inherently changing the colour/lighting/nature of the shot. So i'll leave it like that. You have to look at the shot with your brightness a lot lower and directly ahead - I can still see the gamut problem when I view it from a steep angle on my LCD monitor. In other news here is a vid of a recent run with a bunch of Lotus's the other weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_I6lIYPP20 At the front is a yellow S2 Exige, then a silver Esprit, then the purple Exige, than me - and following me was a... Ford GT! Should've allowed it to overtake me so I could do some footage following that beast. But I was scared shitless of those massive tyres throwing rocks at my car. |

OK
Can you guys help give me some feedback on retrimming the seats? Here are some photos of REAL seats to give you an idea STOCK SEATS (i.e what I currently have) ![]() Very comfortable but badly needing a retrim STOCK SEATS WITH LEATHER RETRIM ![]() Basically this is what you get when you tick the TOURING PACK option, which costs $8000 AUD! (about $7000 USD) FUCK that, what a rip off. Anyway, on with the SPECIAL EDITION Lotus seats EXIGE seats with special HERTZ retrim ![]() LOTUS Exige seats, with special factory retrim ![]() Exige seats with Carbon look leather ![]() Regarding the Laurel Wreath symbol - that is in fact the Lotus F1 winning logo, denoting that they're past F1 champions. I do like it ![]() I know I know - the EXIGE seats are absolutely awesome, but buying new seats is not on the cards. I just want to retrim my ELISE seats and i'm drawing ideas from the EXIGE seats i'm seeing. Now here are my PHOTOSHOP mock up designs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
