Wrangler. The Unlimited is just so awesome. The FJ Cruiser was a close second, but the Unlimited model tipped the scales in favor of the Jeep.

- Wrangler
- FJ
- Nitro

That's the order I put them in. The others don't have any off-road ability so why bother...get a station wagon.

Toss up between the Wrangler and the FJ.

I'm going to go with the Wrangler for Nostalgia and non-bubbley-looking-ness.

1) CX7. Only one that's fun to drive of them probably. Plus it's useful and looks good. Winner
2) Santa Fe. Holy crap! this one is impressive.
3) Wrangler - a real SUV.
4) CR-V: great at what it does.
5) FJ: cool, but flawed.
6) Nitro: if i wanted a 5 year old Jeep Liberty, dammit, i'd buy one. Fucking chrysler.
7) Compass: if i wanted a Dodge Calibre, dammit, i'd buy one. Fucking chrysler.

Extremely difficult choice between the CX-7 and the Wrangler. Even though I'm not into off-roading, I know if I had a Wrangler I would enjoy off-roading it.

But I'll take the CX-7 because I am, first and foremost, an on-road sorta guy, and the Wrangler's interior is very piss-poor.

I went with the CX-7. Always liked it, and from what I've read it seems to be a good car. Also find it the best looking of the bunch by far.

Wrangler all the way.
This cheap SUV niche market is a bit of a dichotomy. Most of the contenders are either butch minivans or tarted up station wagons. I'd rather have the base minivans and station wagons than pay a premium for the look.
The Wrangler is based on neither and has the off-road ability and pedigree to back up it's image.

right on! I just like pavement.

I think a wrangler would be fun to just drive around anyway, even though i realize that's a total waste. Sort of like the women drivers of S2000's who never take them beyond 6k.

Yeah, what clark said. CX7 for me. Is there really only 1 available engine in the CRV now?

Always has been. I find it rather disappointing that it's still only a 2.4 though.

Oh wow...i always thought it was offered as a I4 or V6 for some reason. Learn something new every day rolleyes.gif

edit: maybe i dont know anything about offroading (completely possible), but isnt having 6 gears in a Wrangler excessive/unnecessary?

Having six speeds doesn't make a difference offroad as only the first couple gears are used. The 6th gear is just a cruising overdrive for improved fuel economy on the highway.

Ah gotcha...thats what i thought about gears used off-road, which is why i was a bit confused as to why they'd add an extra. that makes sense though about cruising/highway driving/economy though. Thanks thumbs_up.gif
