Smart formore SUV to be introduced in 2006

Montvale, New Jersey - A four-wheel-drive smart utility vehicle, scheduled for launch in 2006, will be called "formore", announced the company. It will be the first smart vehicle sold in the U.S. and possibly Canada. The smart formore will be built in the DaimlerChrysler plant in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.

"With the smart formore we will be applying the typical smart characteristics of innovation, functionality and joie de vivre to the SUV sector. The new smart model will be a distinctive vehicle, unique in the market - enough so that we translate 'suv' as 'smart' utility vehicle," explained Andreas Renschler, President of smart gmbh.

With the name smart formore, smart is following the naming logic which it began with the four-seater forfour. The basic principle of this logic is to give names which have a direct connection to the uses of each vehicle. Therefore from 2006 the smart formore will be added to the range of new smart model names: the smart fortwo coupe, smart fortwo cabrio and smart forfour. The smart roadster and smart roadster-coupe are to retain their original, well-known names.

Smart is a part of the Mercedes Car Group business unit of DaimlerChrysler. Now in its fifth year, smart car are currently available in almost thirty countries.

It corresponds with smart's new theme for it's car models names.

I think the drawing shows a lot of potential. It could look really good.

I like it until the wheels/tires get wrestled away from the artist, who is obviously compensating for something, by the bean counters who will put sane tires on it and it will look less cool.

I do love the two color thing it has... one for the exterior frame and another for the sweet, sweet insides.

Ahh, a Smart trademark. I love how it looks so utilitarian yet so chic....like something from IKEA. We can only hope it takes more than one tool to construct.

A Revell-Smart collaberation.. world's first Snap-Tite car.

This two-tone dealie reminds me of Magnetic Field's Homeworld game quite a bit.. the angles and such.

What sets this apart from previous Smart two tones is the fact that the frame looks exterior and the interior is being suspended inside.

You're aware that professional interior designers hate with a passion IKEA?

Actually, my father's friend (who is also a general contractor) is working on a large remodel project that is designed almost entirely around IKEA stuff, at the wishes of the fancy dancy San Francisco-based design firm that drafted the whole thing.
