here are the pics of the SC430...sorry for the Quality, its not near my house as i had to move it to a friends garage when Jen got her Yaris (our garage only has room for 2 cars, and after my Subaru got keyed last month, I havent wanted to park it on the street!) and I realised i forgot the keys after i was already there...so instead of coming back empty handed...

(i think im going to try to include a Tim Horton's cup every time i photograph one of my cars from now on!)

Hey! Awesome car Leif thumbs_up.gif How the engine power like? I've never actually been in or driven one of these. Mostly because I personally aren't too fond of its styling and I think it appeals more to women, but thats just an opinion biggrin.gif

the power is ok, Lexus says it has 300BHP, but i have heard it has anywhere from 281-320...its enough to leave the kid in the camaro at the light, and cruise comfortably at its 250km/h limmit.

the real gem of the engine is its smoothnes...when people talk about silky powerplants, the lexus V8 has to come up in conversation.

handling wise...its ok, I wouldnt try anything too wild in it, as it feels like the CoG is biased to the front.

The main advantages to the Lexus are the Luxury of the interior, and the ease at which you can cover distance. I think the SC430 has the nicest interior on the market today...everything is hidden behind mechanical walnut pannels which majestically open with the touch of a button, and brushed aluminium everywhere.

my main complaints about the car are:

1) there is no way to attach an i-pod to the stereo with out using one of those stupid tape converters...which ruins the point of having a mark levinson stereo system...

2) there is no hands free phone option...hand held cell phone or no phone.

3) it looks so good as a coupe...but looks so frumpy when you take the top down...the belt line is way too high!

Maybe you should take off the dealer sticker/emblem thing? I dunno, maybe you like it, but I like to take those off.

I have soft spot for the SC despite it being crap dynamicly. I remember test-driving one while I was in Austin. It was a red example with TRD rims (which are one hell of an improvement over the stock ones). I'm not going to bother finding fault with the engine. Lexus has that department covered quite well. The styling is love-it or hate-it, and I happen to love it, ever since I first saw a pearl white one in Jeddah. What really blows however, is the handling. I remember a friend of mine hustling it through Austin's 2222 road, and saying it was almost completely devoid of steering feel. Still, I like it...

Well, not necessarily, if the Camaro is a V8 automatic I know it can take it, their (camaro's) shitty transmissions don't do anything

that's funny, because i had a '94 Z28 auto running consistent 13.9s when it was stock. my auto t/a when it was stock was running 13.8s @ 100mph (trans ams are the same thing as camaros). GM autos are some of the best on the market in terms of drag racing.
