Its amazing, the weight if it with the IS means i can get really nice sharp images at shutter speeds i usually wouldn't. Also the lens is really nice n sharp at f2.8 which is awesome. It completes my lens collection now.
If anyone is debating whether to get it, just get it. You'll love it |

Yeah the 70-200 2.8 IS is one of the lenses I'll almost always use for people stuff/studio work. Its either that bad boy or its a prime: 135 f2.0, 85 f1.8, 50 f1.4.

how often do you use the 50mm Seagram? A lot. If I'm not using the 24-70 its the 50mm (at those focal lengths). Actually in recent months I've done entire shoots with just the 50mm. Something about f1.4 that just looks so good. Although I shoot it at 1.8 for razor sharpness. |

I'm sure you've seen these before: http://annawu.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/...-comparison.jpg http://stepheneastwood.com/tutorials/lensd...MAGES/tile1.jpg |

Nice! It's a phenomenal lens. The 70-200II and 50 1.2 are all that my camera ever sees, unless I absolutely need a wide angle or IS. The sad part is that the 70-200 is every bit as sharp as the prime, and it's actually usable wide open, unlike the 50.

It gets some funky CA wide open, and the sharpness drops off. It's still possible to get some decent images, but I rarely open it up past f/2.
