Genuinely love every single shots mate. And I normally find motorsport photos boring as sin!

Love that last shot. Did you mount the camera or grab loads of shots handheld?

The concerntration on his face really makes it.

I tried to mount the cam on the rollbar using the chinese copy of gorillapod, that didn't work too well, so I just used it for a bit more stability and basically pushed the cam against the front window, so that it was stable - and of course took a lot of pics. that kind of shot would work better if it was cloudy, so there wouldn't be so big contrast. Next time smile.gif

So, the guy with the red EVO whose photos I took just few days ago finished 2nd overall on the rallysprint - great result for him.

Okay, not a rally this time (altough there is one this Saturday, finally).

I've been to some bike downhill thingy...took just 135/2 with me and here are few snaps:

Back to rally. This is nearly my home rally, but it has been using the same stages for thousand years now, so it is very difficult to find some new interesting places.

Which is something I was considering too -considering nothing really has panning. Its all high speed shots.

the problem with panning in rallying is that you get each car pass thru the corner just once - and if your panning fails, you will miss the car. In circuit racing you have thousand tries for each car smile.gif I'd like to do some more panning, but there's not that many corners suitable for it...

It helps a lot when there is a ton of debris in the air wink.gif

I sold my 50D few weeks ago so that I could afford a 7D, unfortunately it has not yet arrived and I had to take my old rusty dusty 350D to this rally. After this "step down" I realised how much it sucks compared to the 50D - the IQ is OK, I guess you wouldn't notice a difference, but the focusing is SHIT - I had 600 photos and after deleting the ones that are badly focused, I was left with 300 photos (and I had already deleted tons of blurry photos in the camera). Impressive ratio :/

It's funny when someone with photos such as you says that he loves my shots, because I think you would take them thousand times better thumbs_up.gif

I received my new camera (7D) few days before the rally and didn't have much time to get familiar with it. I also didn't realise that 8 GB CF card won't be enough for 3 days of rallying when shooting to RAW, so I chose to shoot in mRAW, which may not have been the best option - because I am not so happy about the quality it produced, I would almost say it has more noise than my previous 50D. Also I don't think the amount of 'keepers' increased - I still had to delete LOTS of badly focused photos (especially those taken with 135/f2). Oh well, perhaps I will be more happy once I shoot in proper full RAW.
