I was planning on posting this in the cool wall, but decided not to for obvious reasons.

Jeremy Clarkson, I noticed that the forum had mixed opinions about him.
I want to find out what Dieselstation thinks of him overall.

As for me, I think he's cool. I may not agree with his opinions all the time, (especially with that of motorbikes) but I still find him to be very amusing.

Ooooh, tricky. I think he's right when he describes himself as being out of step with the average person, which simultaneously makes him cool and uncool. He's also very entertaining (which is cool) and a jerk (which is uncool).

I cannot decide at all!

I dig him. TOTAL entertainment. I don't know how good of a driver he is, or even if he qualifies as a real journalist but he entertains the crap out of me and I enjoy every second of it.

I think he's subzero, but to most of the people out there, he's a pompous british guy who broke his back while driving and I guess that makes him uncool to most.

Indeed, he slipped two discs while powersliding a Monaro VXR. It's a widely known fact.

No he doesn't?

QUOTE
Thereís no complex double-stage turbocharging here; no elegantly machined swirl chamber to extract the best possible power and economy from the smallest possible engine. Itís a 4.6 litre V8 with just one camshaft, three valves per cylinder and the sort of power output the average European would expect from a juicer.

my reasoning for him being ice cold, is that he always makes me laugh, which is super ++++, and he knows a little bit about cars.

it has one per bank of cylinders. Honestly, when the notation is SINGLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT it's easy to make that mistake...tons of people do it. He never explicitly stated the Mustang has a pushrod engine, therefore he never stated what you claimed he stated.

Plus, Clarkson makes all sorts of mistakes like that all the time...like saying the CL65 has a 6.5 liter V12 when it's only a 6.0.

well that was a pretty big mistake. plus his general bias against American cars (except for his dream car) is disgusting. he sits there and calls american sports cars crap because they just turn good track times but "fall apart while doing so", then turns around and praises a TVR for basically being the exact same thing, except European. if the C6 had a Lotus or TVR badge he'd be all over it.
