I pity everyone who can't have authentic poutine served from a street meat vendor in Toronto.

Even though it's part of my Canadian heritage I cringe at the thought of poutine.

If you were to divide Winnipeg into quarters, pretty much the entire South East side is French Canadian, as are a significant portion of the towns near the city, so almost every restaurant here serves poutine, from Burger King all the way up to places whose names begin with Chez.

Poutine is now on my short list of new things to try next. As soon as I work off all the beer, bratwurst and amazing seafood (mostly fried) that I've eaten in the past week.

I want to try it too. I play Counter-Strike with a bunch of canucks that don't shut up about it.

How have I missed this thread that is so full of fucking win?

It looks like I missed the drama, but let me just weigh in by saying that mayo on french fries is great. One time in Germany, I had a hot dog with mayo on it and it was one of the best dogs ever.
