it looks like they just put the transmission at the back of the car to make it RWD... you can see the shifter linkage running back up to the front. ridiculous.

I'm curious as to how...safe this is.
That rear suspension looks like it belongs on a gokart

Its pretty simplistic. Cant be very safe. The only thing that each of those arms are held on by is two bolts. A couple of hard bumps and those bolts might bend of even worse, break.

The guy CLAIMS he uses it as a daily driver and that it handles remarkably well and is quite fun to drive. Hell, he even claims this is the only Civic capable of entering drift competitions but... haha.

I've seen this on a forum a couple of weeks ago. I will admit it is ugly, but it definatly is unique and would probably be pretty cool if built correctly.

I'd think some of you weenies would cream your pants over an RWD Honda.

A subframe like that is SOP when it comes to doing stuff like that. It's not unsafe, and not unusual. Check out the Dahlback Golf with dual engines.

So is my moms Ford Taurus, but that doesnt mean it would win or not be laughed out of the competition.

So is his motor directly coupled to a drive shaft that goes back to the transmission?

It's "an", because it's an acronym and has a vowel starting sound.

I was confused about the Dahlback Golf. I'm thinking of another golf with dual engines, and an extremely similar layout (large scoop on the roof for rear engine). I think it was just someone's homebuilt project though.

Subframes like that are normal though. That's how you do it if you want to do something like that.
