Ok, I've got a laptop without the luxury of hyperthreading and I need a bittorent client that wont slow everything down... I was using Azureus (which was horrible) and I just recently switched to g3 (which is not quite as bad, but still 50-60% cpu utilization at all times). Is there anything better?

I've found ABC to be a real hog. Still using it though...

All bittorrent clients eventually start to hog memory. Though BitLord limits its hogging to 45 mb after sustained use.

"A minimal BitTorrent client. It wont have all the pretty features that other Torrent apps have, but focuses on low memory and cpu usage. Because it was written in C++, you dont get the high memory requirements of Java or high CPU usage of Python."

Try limiting your number of download connections and upload connections, maybe to get a high speed it's creating many, which is not what you want.
