Oh yeah, I think the drift cars drifted before the actual rally stage began - but I came just for the rally.

I knew this rally was going to suck and it did. I hated it last year and I hated it this year again.

You are so good at making things "pop" that I don't even care about those big-ass trees in the foreground.

I'm not visiting any WRC event this year, so Barum Rally was the "biggest" event for me:

Wow. That is a stunning environmental portraite!!!!
My one crit would be that the white building behind the grill sucks in the grill a little.
The lighting is beautiful, and the light on the guy's face is superb. Can we see a version without the flair perhaps?

If you are interested particurarly in the last shot, then that is only ambient light, no flashes. The pic I linked here is just one bare speedlight from the left (nearly from the front wheel), sun from the right and fake photoshop sun behind his head biggrin.gif

Just so that you know... 2 weeks ago I shot my first real rally event for a local team. This thread was my only source of inspiration.

Anyway, here is another rally.

They were nowhere near the kind of stuff you get! The locations of the stages in the rally were pretty boring. No trees or stuff I could use to add depth like you do. But to be honest I think my results would have been 10x worse had I NOT come through here for inspiration first. I leeched some of your awesome-ness. smile.gif

HOW!!!! Do you capture so much speed in a still frame? Mind boggling!

Any chance some of these are available for prints?

Cheers

You can download the fullsize images from here http://rallyphotos.cz/requests/vsetin/all/ but because I usually just put my photos on the web, the photos are not really print-ready. I think they have way too much noise (still can't get over how damn noisy 7D is) and some of them arent 100% in focus (which you cannot see in web resolution)...
