Really liking that shot Martin.

Dean, I'm liking that. I'm still completely clueless how Andy does those light sphere's in his shots. His Flickr page is full of them biggrin.gif

My tribute to this thread.

really great shot. The lighting is perfect. Have yet to try this but I really want to. Can anyone point me in the direction of a comprehensive how-to on this?

No, but here's my pointers.

Middle and bottom stripes - Lightsource towards the car, shoulder height I think
Top one - Lightsource towards the camera.
And one exposure for ground maybe.

Its easiest if you can take a friend with you. Then just sit by the camera and watch when the right reflection comes and then do a little walk with the same height along the whole car.

For my lightource I went for 30 sec shutter on f8. And dont forget to remove the CP-filter if you have one.

I just don't understand why should I point the light source towards the camera

It only goes for the top stripe, thats the only way to make it visible like the one I did.

Here's my first attempt at light painting. I did this for two reasons...

To try and shoot a black car at night without flash and also because I'd never tried lightpainting before smile.gif

Squiggly on the front quarter....I guess I need to be a bit more steady with my torch smile.gif

Rubbish location but I really was just testing things out.
