The cool wall is fun. Crankshafted's good car/bad car is also fun. Given that DS and CS have the same regulars nowadays, why not just consolidate the two? A single thread can have two different poll questions. What if, when you posted on DS's cool wall (which would have to be retitled, I guess), you asked people BOTH to rank the car's coolness AND choose whether it's good or bad? I think addressing these two different aspects of a car with a single thread could lead to some good debates.

I prefer them separate. Just like I prefer DS and CS separate.

I think while both the Cool Wall and Good Car/Bad Car are fun, they're quite a bit different. Lets take the Elantra for example, it's without doubt a good car, but I also think it's the furthest thing from cool possible.

The Good Car / Bad Car is copyright and property of Crankshafted. If Good Car / Bad Car shows up in whatever form on DS then legal action will be taken and an immedate cease & desist letter will be issued.

They're two separate forums. End of.

Ah. I had not realized that these were entirely separate forums with no crossover allowed (under threat of litigation) when you posted on DS encouraging people to try out CS's good car/bad car. Thanks for clearing that up.

By the way, what the hell would you sue for? People have been saying things like "it's a good car, but not a cool one" and "cool as hell, despite being a piece of shit" for YEARS on the cool wall before you created the Miraculously Original idea of starting a poll on whether the car is good. What's so fucking unique about ranking a car as good or bad? And the format of your "good car/bad car" forum (create a poll, and then sort cars into subforums based on the results) is, in itself, "borrowed" from DS's cool wall forum. And now you're threatening to sue DS and its members if they use that format to ask the most basic of basic car questions?

Your threat to sue anybody who creates a poll "is this car good or bad?" is fucking asinine. That's not legal advice, that's just a fact.

In my experience, posts like:

QUOTE(phix @ Aug 9 2008, 03:31 PM) *
Because Crankshafted isn't Dieselstation.

End of discussion and thread. If you don't like it here then by all means stay on DS. Nobody's forcing you to post on both forums.

aren't friendly ribbing and joking around. That set the tone for everything that followed. If the above-quoted post was actually you just joking around, maybe you should make it a little more obvious. Because you just came off as pissed off.

It came about when Ketan bought dieselstation. There was, of course, a lot of controversy over the move, and a significant increase in advertising on the site and forums immediately after the purchase made, as well as a lot of concerns about Ketan being uncontactable and, thus, impossible to reason with. The result was a new site/forum.

Shortly after Diesel sold this site to Ketan, some people were concerned that DS was going to go down the tubes. So Crankshafted.com was founded. I think it's owned by Cyclone and largely administered and/or moderated by Phix. After a while, it turned out that DS wasn't going away after all, so a lot of the people who "left" DS started posting here again as well.

To my knowledge, everyone who currently posts at Crankshafted first posted on DS, and I'm not aware of anyone who posts at CS who doesn't also currently post on DS. Cyclone or Phix can correct me if any of these facts are wrong.

There are a couple people on CS who are unique to CS. They're certainly in the minority.

Anyway, the owners and moderators of CS wish it to remain a separate entity from DS. Owing to the circumstances under which crankshafted was founded, there will always be a connection with dieselstation, however that does not mean they are one and the same.

This discussion has run its course me thinks.
